NAME: Gary Sturgeon WHERE FROM: Burns Lake, British Columbia HARVESTED: Near Burns Lake, British Columbia TYPE OF FIREARM OR BOW USED: Savage 7mm Win Mag. SPECIES TYPE: Mule Deer SIZE AND WEIGHT: 16 point, 300 pounds on the rail DESCRIPTION: I had seen the tracks of this monster for months but never caught even a glimpse of him. Every day, doe after doe, and the occasional 3- or 4-point buck, but I knew there was one bigger out there. We have quite a long season on our mule deer and I was determined that if I put in the time I would eventually see him. Not knowing exactly how big he was I continued to slowly determine his daily patterns and on the second to last day of the season and 500 km later on my quad, there he was, standing looking at me in the middle of a clearing about 250 yards off.
