Mongolia?! You bet! PA hunter takes a nice Ibex

NAME: Douglas Shaffer WHERE FROM: Carlisle, Pa HARVESTED: Mongolia TYPE OF FIREARM OR BOW USED: .300 Win Short Mag. SPECIES TYPE: Altai Mt. Ibex SIZE AND WEIGHT: 37-inch rack, about 250 lbs. DESCRIPTION: I hunted Mongolia in Sept. and Oct. of 2001 for both Maral Stag and Ibex. We spotted and stalked a bachelor herd of about 13 animals to about 80 yards by horseback and then walked. I was successful with both animals on the first day of each hunt. A great trip and a great country!!
