South Carolina hunter drops a Hurricane Ivan buck!

NAME: Matt Hambrick WHERE FROM: Columbia, SC HARVESTED: Irmo, SC TYPE OF FIREARM OR BOW USED: .243 SPECIES TYPE: whitetail SIZE AND WEIGHT: 10 pts./180 lbs. DESCRIPTION: Hurricane Ivan was pushing through South Carolina and felt like this might be my afternoon to get the big one. There was a break in the weather when I climbed in the stand around 5pm. By about 6pm, I had to climb out of the stand because the strong winds had picked up again. I found a small pine and sat up against it. At around 7:15pm, I looked to my right and there HE was. Unbelievable, this had been what I was waiting to see. I took the safety off, and pulled the trigger, He was down. The next thing I remember doing is yelling "YES,YES!" When I got to the deer, it was a 10 pointer. I could not believe my eyes. It took 15 years to finally shoot the big one.
