Jason Ehry
Alberta bear hunter stumbles upon pack of wolves

NAME: Jason Ehry

WHERE FROM: Medicine Hat, Alberta

HARVESTED: Hynes Creek (3 hours north of Grande Prairie Alberta)

TYPE OF FIREARM OR BOW USED: Winchester 7mm Rem. Mag.

SPECIES TYPE: Wolf

SIZE AND WEIGHT: 7 ft., 120 lbs.

DESCRIPTION: It was late in the evening and we had been walking all day on a spring bear hunt. We had just seen a chocolate colored bear on some slopes about a mile away, but when we got to the area the bear was gone. While waiting to see if he would return, we saw a pack of wolves on a slope 600 to 800 yards away. We watched them for a while then changed our position. While I was glassing for bears again, the wolves came out of the trees about 50 yards away and didn't even know that I was there.
