Ruger .44 Mag. Flattop
|
Ruger
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the .44 Mag. Flattop, which was introduced in 1956 and manufactured until 1962, when an integral rear-sight guard was added. A special 50th Anniversary .44 Mag. New Model Ruger Blackhawk Flattop will be produced in limited quantities until the end of 2006. It will be blued, and a gold-filled rollmark on the barrel will read "50 Years of .44 Magnum--1956 to 2006." Barrel length is to be 61?2 inches, and it has a fluted cylinder, XR-3 grip frame and checkered hard-rubber grips. Naturally it features the modern transfer-bar safety system and internal lock. It also has the reverse-indexing pawl introduced last year.
